June/July News

So, some great things have been going on.

NYC-

Boneshakers
- Brad and Megan are opening a vegan bakery in Williamsburg. It will be called Champs Family Bakery. It's location will be in the former Pat's Grocery Store on corner of Leonard and Ainslie St.
*Update* Champs is open as of the 4th of August, grand opening is happening Saturday, 14th of August. Call ahead to check what goodies they have. The danishes run out pretty quickly, thanks to G. +1.718.599.2743

Cocoa V
- Word is that they will be shrinking and closing their dinning area. I was a bit sad to hear this until I learned that the former dinning room will be making way for a Blossom take-away shop! Now you don't have to wait for their kitchen to open when you have a severe craving.

Breakfast All Day- This tid-bit comes to us from Eater's NY page. We heard this place was in the planning stage when Passout Records was closing. 24 hour veggie restaurant and brought to you by the same person that started the now defunct Burritoville and Veg-City Diner. Location at 151 Grand and Berry. Let's hope the kitchen is better then when Veg-City Diner was around. They had fun comfort food but many couldn't handle the greasiness.

Vegan Divas- A new vegan desert line has come into existence. Their pastry chef is Camillo Sabella, who formerly baked for Life thyme Natural Market, Babycakes, and Peacefoods Café. They are available for now at 2 stores uptown, Butterfields.

The Little Bird Cafe- Yes, another vegan bakery. This "little" spot opened on Avenue B, between 11th and 12th. Now serving up vegan goodies and aiming to have beer and wine in the future.

Vaute Couture's Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart has taken up roots from her beloved Chicago and replanted herself here in NYC. Show her some love and check out the new line.

LA- Quarry Girl's site is branching out more and more with reviews from all over. They and their horde are traveling and relocating so they now review spots in LA and Southern California, Seattle, Portland, NYC, South Florida (or SoFla for Floridians like Eric) and London. If you are traveling to any of those spots, check them out.
